We are thrilled to announce that registration for the Royal Alpaca Show on Sunday, November 12, 2023, is now open! To ensure a seamless registration process and a successful experience at the event, please take note of the following vital details:
- Registration Dates: Registration runs from Sept 1st-October 15th. Any registrations received after October 15th will be subject to late fees. Make sure to mark these dates on your calendar to secure your spot. AssistExpo Registration can be accessed HERE
- Competition Information
- Entry Deadline: Sunday October 15, 2023
- Entry Fee: $50.00 per entry. A late fee of $75.00 per entry after Friday October 15, 2023.
- Move In / Out Information
- Time of Arrival: Saturday November 11, 2023, 12:00 PM (noon) – 4:00 PM.
- Time of Release: Sunday November 12, 2023. All alpacas must remain stabled until 6:00 PM on Sunday
- Membership Requirement: Prior to registering, exhibitors must already be members of Alpaca Ontario. It’s important to note that there will be no option to sign up for Alpaca Ontario membership during the show registration process. We strongly advise against waiting until the last moment to ensure your membership is in order.
- Alpaca Canada/CLAA Membership: All exhibitors must also hold active memberships with Alpaca Canada/CLAA before the commencement of any sanctioned Alpaca Canada show. While non-members can still showcase their alpacas, they will not be eligible for prize money or earned points.
- CLAA Registration: Every alpaca participating in the show must be registered with the Canadian Llama and Alpaca Association (CLAA). Please have a copy of the alpaca’s CLAA certificate of registration and a negative BVD test result readily available at check-in.
- Pending registration status will not be accepted
- Percentage purebred alpacas with CLAA certificates are eligible to show.
- Alpacas with 0% recorded status will not be permitted.
- Alpaca Eligibility: For the halter class, the fleece must have a minimum mid-side length of 2 inches, with no maximum length.
- Insurance: Proof of farm liability insurance covering up to 1 million dollars is mandatory.
- Dress Code:
- Suitable and safe footwear (no open-toed shoes or sandals)
- Avoid displaying logos or personal names on show ring attire
- Opt for dark pants or skirt paired with a white shirt or blouse
- Utilize a black show halter and lead without any adornments
- Stalls and Amenities: Stalls will be 8’ x 8’ with hard surface flooring. Please be aware that bedding will not be provided. Stall fans are permitted, but must not obstruct the aisles.
